Is this your event, your photo, or your writing? Tell us and we'll remove it. You don't need an account, and you don't need a lawyer — email removals@monterey-events.com and say which listing you mean. One message is enough.
Monterey Events is an index of what is happening on the Monterey Peninsula. For each event we gather the facts — its name, date, time, venue, admission price, category, and a link to the organizer's own page — from sources that are already public: venue calendars, business websites, event listings, and information businesses send us directly.
Facts are not owned by anyone. The date and address of a public concert are information, not creative work, and we list them so people can find the event and turn up to it. Wherever we can, we link you to the organizer's own page rather than keeping a copy of it here — the goal is to point at their content, not to replace it.
Photos and written descriptions are owned by whoever made them. Ours come from three places: a business's own photos, openly licensed stock, and in some cases the page an event was listed on.
Where we hold a record of who made a picture, we print it. On this website that credit is a caption directly beneath the photo — the photographer, where it was published, and the license it was published under — on the event's page and on the venue's page, because those licenses require the credit to travel with the picture.
And some we cannot account for. A set of older venue photos came with listings we inherited. We checked each file for any record of who made it and came up empty, so we do not credit anyone for them. Instead the photo says so, in the same caption slot a credit would use: “We don't know who took this photo. If it's yours, tell us and we'll remove it.” — and the words “tell us” in that note are a link back to this page. We would rather tell you that than guess.
If we are showing something of yours and you would rather we did not, tell us. That is the entire process. We do not ask you to prove ownership before we act.
Email removals@monterey-events.com. That is the route, and it is the same one whether you are the photographer, the business, or someone acting for either.
Tell us which listing and what should go — the photo, the description, or the whole entry. A link, a title, or a date is plenty; we will find it. There is no form to complete, no account to create, and no formal notice to serve first.
removals@monterey-events.comA person reads every request. Nothing is removed, kept, or decided automatically, and nothing is screened out by a filter before someone sees it. We aim to act within 3 business days, and we reply to the address you wrote from — including when the answer is that it is already done.
You are welcome to simply ask us, above — it is faster, and we would rather fix it than argue about it. If you prefer to file a formal notice under the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act, send it to our designated agent:

Monterey Events must register a DMCA designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office (dmca.copyright.gov) and publish the registered name, postal address, telephone number and email address here. Until that registration exists this section is incomplete, and the safe-harbour protection it describes is not available. In the meantime, send notices to removals@monterey-events.com and we will act on them.

If we removed something of yours and you believe that was a mistake, write to the same address and we will look again. If you are a business and you would rather we listed your events with your own photos and words, tell us that too — that is the outcome we want.
We remove material that infringes copyright, and we stop ingesting from a source that repeatedly produces infringing material.
